Glossary of Terms for the Radiochemistry Laboratory

Note 1: This glossary is a draft. There are still errors in some of the definitions; so, use them for what they’re worth but don’t rely on them or cite them.
Note 2: The VIM (1993 version, not 2008) is the glossary’s primary reference for definitions of general terms in metrology. The GUM is the authoritative reference for terminology related more specifically to measurement uncertainty. The definitions taken from IUPAC, which are in most cases related to chemistry and physics, are accessible online at the URL provided below.

Note: Internet Explorer 8 has problems displaying the glossary index. In “compatibility mode” it gets the spacing wrong, and in normal mode it omits the cell borders. Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Opera have always handled it correctly.
